Drink it before the end of the year. That's some time in next 100 days.

It used to be swill. Then they retooled, and with the prestablished marketing in place, put Pinot Grigio on the map. Current quality: Fair. That's why you got to drink it qwick.

In my view, this one is among the most over-priced wines of the century.

Goodness, how can a $15 wine be so overpriced?

Hey man, if you got it for $15 you got a good deal. That sucker sells between $17 and $18 in NYCity.

There is a Pinot Grigio from Trentino--Ritratti--that is far superior at $15. And I like Frattina PG at $13, which comes from the western part of the Friulian region (L Prammiagiore).

Joey,
Not an awful buy, but Santa Margharita is a very 'fashionable' bottle of wine right now. A few years ago the same stuff went for less $$ is all. There are Alsatian Pinot Gris (same grape, different spelling) that will literally knock your socks off for that same $15. Some outstanding $12 PG's from Oregon as well. If you like Santa Margarita, we bet you'll like finding others you prefer for less money. Mo' bettah wine, less $$$. That's the goal.

The easy answer is :"Anything imported by Paterno Imports is overpriced by half" and you should know that that wine routinely wins an "Oscar" for best value in wines under 10,000 lira ($5.00!!!) in the Bere Bene guida in Italy.

We sell a Pinot Gris from Argentina called Bodega Lurton that absolutely blows Santa Marg-a-what-a away and it is $4.99....

Must be pretty easy to grow. At a recent tasting of Pennsylvania wines, found a fistful of Pinot Grigios from PA. Most tasted just fine, thank you. Don't know if any have found their way to Greater Chicago wine shops, but you might keep your eye out.
