medium reddish cranberry color. big nose of earthy, smoky dark fruits and barnyard funk which reduced with less than an hour in the decanter. huge flavors of cherry, plum, spice and smoke. silky mouthfeel, with a strong entry and midpalate followed by a very long expanding finish. very nice effort. 91 points.

Tried this for lunch yesterday. Seemed somewhat disjointed. Could jhave been my taster wasn't calibrating yet. Wont judge this till I try another bottle. WW

verne: been a *very* poor correspondent since the move and starting the new job. haven't been on the board in ages. just saw that you were in vegas SB week. d-mn! ended up going at last minute and was wondering if you'd be there. almost went to dinner at pamplemousse by myself on fri. 2/1. what a kick that woulda been to run into you! been sick as a dog ever since getting back from that weekend, but finally starting to feel better. also helping care for my CB, who had shoulder surgery on wednesday. it went very well, but she's one-handed and kinda helpless for now. will e-mail you soo, bubba.
K.

Had this last nite before I resume my sabbatical. Nose of red sweet fruits and spice with a touch of barny. Solid entry, weighty center and a 4 lapper finish. Close to TTOIG. 90 14.8% alc. WW

Opened another for lunch yesterday. The original funk on the nose blew off after 15 min and the red and black fruits came on with a nice sweet spice. The entry was solid and a nice weighty center and 4+ lapper finish keeps this sucker going. Still some tannins that need another year to resolve. A solid 90+ that be there folk. Good juice. WW
