WW always raves about Tom's stuff, but this is the first time it's crossed our lips. We stumbled upon this bottle at a wine shop in Columbia, MO (Anne and I are camping up here this week).

Deep ruby in color, with a nose of cherries, spices, a touch of earth, and that white fudge stuff that my crazy Norwegian grandmother called sea foam. Rich fruit flavors, but it has quite a bit of acidity. It's probably what allows Dehlinger wines to age so well. A trace of heat from the 14.5% is my only small quibble. Overall, a very nice RRV wine. Anne was extremely favorable. We paid $43 and would buy it again.

The shop owner must be a long-time friend and buyer of Toms' as the only shops I've ever seen it in were in No. Calif and who helped out when Tom started out. Now you see qwhy I usually wait for 5 before cracking any of his wines unless it's for a visitor who's never had the pleasure. WW

Had another for lunch yesterday. It's really showing some lovely whiskers now and may have another 1-3 for ultimate maturity. Great juice. WW
