Just popped this one last night. Surprise! Very tannic!

I suppose by now I should not be too surprised by the variety in Pinot Noirs, but this on almost put me off with the wall of tannins. I'm going to let the rest of the bottle sit a couple of days in the frige and see if it calms down a bit.

Drank another glass tonight. I don't really like this one. I'm going to let the bottle sit out another day or two and try it again, but I doubt it will get any better.

Are you sure it was tannin and not something else? I have hardly ever fround a Pinot to be tannic, particularly an inexpensive one.

Not sure. I only know one thing about this wine for sure -- it tasted bad, kind of vinegary and rough.

Got to admit that sounds like tannin.

If you have a chance to try their 2003 vintage I think you will really enjoy that bottling. We buy it by the case for a house red. Another good buy in this area is Avila's 2004 Pinot Noir from San Luis Obispo. It should sell for around $9 a bottle.
