Dan'l Duckster hit a homerun on the purchase of this pinot property in the A Valley. Deep ruby. Nose of sweet rasp/strawberries, smoke, floral notes, forest floor, and spice. All hit the palate running. Dense and structurally well-textured this lovely bottle still needs another 2-4 to shed some silky tannins. Lots of polish. 92/90 48 on pre-sale. 14.5% alc. WW

Had to try the Big Bro just to see the dif and it's as evedint as the schnozz on me kisser. This is a large scaled bottle with loads of room for improvement and still needs the 2-4 to handle the supple tannins. No reason to be in a hurry to open this sucker unless you want to enjot a BIG, BAD, pinot that'll handle enny thin you put in front of it. WW

Took this to our new Vietmanse jernt for lunch with Mike yesterday. Like the Lorings it was purrfek with the food. Seems to be calming down or it coulda' been the food that helped tame it. Still, a lovely bottle. WW

Had another today. Coming along swimmingly. Still has a passel of sweet tannins but they don't get in the way of the finish. No change in scoring. WW

Satisfying and just enough complexity to compliment a simple lunch of tuna salad. Love this Alex Valley Pinot. Think there may be a couple more in the closet. WW
