We just couldn't keep our hands off it. Opened it as an early Valentine's wine on Saturday night. Decanted for 30 minutes before 1st pour and left in decanter through evening. Dark ruby to garnet in color, with a pronounced nose of barnyard and black cherry. Big, rich, deeply flavored wine with the black cherry fruits sharing the stage with red spices and a forest floor note that I don't find all that often with RRV fruit. Great texture, though some tannins suggest aging it another year or two, and it finishes with good acidity. Will try to get some more in the spring allocation. Alc. 14.4% . $44 from the mailing list. 300 cases made. Pinot Report gave it a 96.

Thanks for the note. I have two Garys' Vineyards I haven't opened yet and will be ordering from the spring list next week if he is not sold out of the ones I intend to order.

Opened the 1st of this hummer today and it was definately atypical of most of the other 04 Lorings' I've tried. Brite ruby. Nose highlighted by huge black fruits along with enough funk to let you know it's pinot, and the lovely GOOD barnyard scents. Earthiness and a hint of strawberries are also present. All hit the palate sprining and the mouthfeel is awesome. Entry is solid with a massive center and a 4&1/2 lapper finish. Still some noticible tannins on the finish that could resolve in another 1-2. REALLY super juice that gives loads of satisfaction. 94/92.

Killed the last of these lovelies today. Would have held for at least another 3-6 but so bloomin' tasty why wait? A killer bottle from a vineyard I know nothing about. Minuscule quantity but massive quality. Wish my allotment had been larger. No sense in talking pernts. WW
