From the Canon Fronsac appelation.
I'll start this by saying I haven't had a lot of Bordeaux, so I'm not saying this is good or great Bordeaux, but this is pretty great wine. 70% Merlot, 30% Cab Franc.

We did a tasting of 6 2003 Bordeaux, all $10-$25, and this one at just $12.99 was the winner by far.
Just awesome wine.
Plums, cherries, and gravel notes dominate the nose and the very rich palate, but what really set it apart was a tremendously elegant smokiness. The finish is long, and though the tannins are supple and pleasant, they are big enough to let the fruit and earth flavors linger for a long time, all in harmony but also all independently vibrant.
I REALLY like this wine.
I don't think it's something that's all over the place-- it came from one of our small specialty distributors, but if you see it, buy 1 and drink it soon so you can grab more before it's gone!
I have a half-case, and I'll try to hang on to a few for a few more years. We'll see

Just had another bottle of this.
Just as good.
One of my favorite under $15 wines ever. (which is only a few years for me )

No, it's not a profound Bordeaux, but it's terrific red wine at a good price!
What's not to like?

That's the barometer for judging ANY wine IMHO. If I like it, I buy it. Will look for this hummer when I go to me pushers next. WW
