Terrific expression of the Syrah grape. A complete wine that were it not for the fsact that it runs a little hot at 14.5% would be seamless. all of the good stuff comes thru and very little negative factors. Deep ruby, pepper, black fruits, meat, catchers mitt, and some pencil shavings all come across on the palate. A long finish that shuts down when the considerable tannins kick in. This is definately not juice for the weak-tongued. Needs another 3-5. 90-93/90. WW

Does catchers mitt display more or less of a savory profile than say......pitchers mitt or outfielders mitt? And what would be the appropriate food pairing with this flavor note?

Ever notice the signs flashed by the catcher to the pitcher? Where does the flashing hand rest 'afore he punches the fist into the mitt? The enhanced aromatics are never enhanced by the saliva in a first basemans' or SSs' glove to this extent. ww

Drew, appropriate foods would be FIELD greens, blue PLATE special, SAFEway produce, popOVER, trOUT, and SCOREd filet. (Ballpark franks is too easy).

Gracious sakes no Drew. The 90-93 was the projected rating when this hummer sheds all the baby-fat and the 90 was the value as the price was 27 a clatter on the mailing list. WW
