2004 Loring Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir

We just couldn't keep our hands off it. Opened it as an early Valentine's wine on Saturday night. Decanted for 30 minutes before 1st pour and left in decanter through evening. Dark ruby to garnet in color, with a pronounced nose of barnyard and black cherry. Big, rich, deeply flavored wine with the black cherry fruits sharing the stage with red spices and a forest floor note that I don't find all that often with RRV fruit. Great texture, though some tannins suggest aging it another year or two, and it finishes with good acidity. Will try to get some more in the spring allocation.
