2005 Adelsheim Eliabeth's Reserve, Yamhill County Pinot Noir

This was quietly resting uncatalogued in my cellar tracker. so a bit surprised to find this. (Also interesting to see that both WW and i ended up with the same vintage, varietal and general location (West Coast) for a wine that day).

Shared with a group of friends who coincidentally had pulled out 2 other Pinots for dinner. One was a splendid Burg that I will post on later. The interesting thing was that they were all very different. This one was the most pronounced of the new world Pinots. Nose was frangrantly fruity and meaty at the same time along with some interesting spices for the trip. On the palate, much the same but there is a hint of sweetness that hits you first on the approach. Red berries is more pronounced than on the nose, texture is just lovely, smooth, lush but in a controlled manner. Tannins appear to have completely receded now. A quietly enjoyable bottle that if there was a hint more complexity, I would have enjoyed it more. As it stands, it was just a step behind the burg....but that's likely my preference versus the wine.
