2004 Peachy Canyon, Incrdible Red, California, Zinfandel Bin 119 ($9.98 NH Liq Store). Notice that it no longer has a Paso appellation. Alcohol level: 14%.

Decanted for an hour to be on the safeside, but don't think it was necessary. Gave nice redish fruit on the nose and upfront. Was smooth and almost but not flabby in the middle, and finished nicely.

Was looking for a little more lust with the lamburgers and Moroccan veggies and 'taters.

What a coincidence! Jake Beckett was in the shop yesterday with a few bottles of their latest to taste. He had the Incredible Red and we noted the same thing. He assured us it was all Paso fruit from a number of different vineyards. He also had the Westside Zin and the Jester open. All were really nice wines. His brother Josh (not the Red Sox pitcher) has taken over all winemaking duties from their dad and Jake is running around the country selling the stuff.

Just another note, he and Josh are starting another label shortly that they want to use to target the "starters". They're hoping they can get the 20 somethings into wine with some easy drinking, less expensive versions of the regular Peachy Canyon line.

The '05 is back to saying "Paso Robles" on the label. Fun drink, with juicy red berry aromas and flavors, with a bit of sour cherry. MInimal tannins. Not rustic, earthy, or robust, so look elsewhere for those type of Zins. It's an easy everyday drink, though, and would likely pair well with anything from grilled burgers to portobella mushrooms to a sweeter BBQ sauce. 13.9% alc. We paid $9.99 locally.
