Another fruit-driven zin that has a lot goin' fer poco dinero. Brite clear tuby. Strawberries, huckleberries, and a touch of cinnamon on entry. Medium weight mid-palate. Usual Zin finish...2-3-lapper. A kick of a BBQ, burger, or terriacki beef quaffer. Nice juice. 86/89. 10 by the box.ww

Doug can make all those other Zins like Eastside, Westside, Mustang, etc. But I've always felt the Incredible Red was the most consistently good wine in the bunch.

Continuing my quaffer quest in the zin field, the 2002 Seghesio Sonoma County is a medium deep ruby. Nice berry nose. Solid entry with a weighty mid-palate and a 3-lapper finish that has a little heat due to the 15.2% alc. As usual a solid, well-made bottle. Should improve with anoter 1-3 in bottle. 85/85. 14 by the box. WW OOPS! Just realized I didn't give this its' own thread so kill me

I reported on a 2000 Peachy Canyon Incredible Zinfandel back in December. I liked it but thought the alcohol content was a little high--not as subtle as some of the DeLoach and Rosenblum zins I've had (which were also more expensive.) I believe I have a Seghesio on hand to try and also the Gallo Dry Creek Zinfandel. Will report on them after opening.

ww, $10 retail for Incredible Red. That is a good price. In NY it is discounted this month at wholesale for $7 a bottle. The regular wholesale price is $8.

Always liked that wine too.

Hello All,
You may be interested to know that Beringer Vineyards' Californian red Zinfandel 1999 was awarded a silver medal here in the U.S.A. red wine section of the 2002 International Wine Challenge. Was described as 'spices and toasty oak over a ripe fruit palate.Powerful, with concentrated fruit for hearty drinking'. Sells here at the equivalent of 13 U.S. dollars. T

We enjoyed a bottle of the 2006 last night. It cost $10.99 at the Wolfeboro NH Liq Store. It weighed in at 13.9% alcohol so it was "under" 14%! It is still a very nice bottle of juice.

We matched it with charcoal grilled Porterhouse steak rubbed with EVOO and Morton Rub, grilled corn on the cob, and "Frenchie" green beans from our garden. All this was planned for Sunday night, but an unexpected visit from daughter and friend moved it to Monday! Great Monday night.
