Beautiful food zin. Raspberry, black cherry, zinberry, underbrush, hints of cinnamon and spice, smooth and elegant. Medium to full bodied with fine grained tannins on the looong finish. My all time favorite food zin. Paired wonderfully with zerk pork tenderloin and black beans and rice with added sweet local corn kernels. No noticable heat from the 14.9% Alc/vol. $15.

I saw this one the other day and almost bought it. I may have to get it after all... same store had a 1999 Rancho Zabaco. Which is better?

rob - One thing you'll find is that when you ask 50 people which of two wines is better, you're going to get 50 answers. The best way for you to decide which is better is to get both and try them side by side.

Of course you are right. I should stop asking that question. I have already noticed many disagreements in the short amount of time I have been on this discussion board.

IMHO, Michael David is better by far. If you can find it, the Earthquake Zin by the Same winery will run you about $21.99, but well worth it. Their syrahs are quite tastey as well. They have one at both the $15 and the $22 price points.

BTW, robr, KC is correct in that we all have different palates. That's not to say that your opinion and questions don't make a difference. Ask away!

I thought I posted on this one a while back, but can't seem to find it. Anywho, I love this wine and buy it by the case. It's a big boy though and gets quite tannic when aproaching room temp. Serve it at 60-65 and it is just perfect.

Have kept this lil' hummer as a staple in the cellar for over 3 years. Great foodie. WW
