Dark ruby. Fruit forward flavors of berries, blackberry, cherry and spice, almost juicy in description. Mild oak flavor at the linguring finish, intermingled with hints of licorice and tar with some fine tannins kicking in. This is a very elegant wine that's moderately complex and a real pleasure to drink. 14.5% Alc/vol. $14.

Drew where did you find this bounty? This sounds like it would be good for my palate, not to mention other things!

My bud, Stan, who owns Midway Liquors on Rt. 40 East outside of Baltimore has a stash of it.

Shiraz

Also Parker rated it an 87 and sez: "The reasonably priced 2000 Three Gardens Proprietary Red Wine (a blend of 51% Shiraz, 44% Grenache, and 5% Mourvedre) is a cleanly made, suave, elegant, medium-bodied South Australian red. It exhibits a dark ruby color as well as copious quantities of graceful berry and cherry fruit intermixed with pepper and spice. Restrained and surprisingly European in its overall personality, it will drink well for 2-3 years, although it will probably live longer." Robert Parker Wine Advocate, Issue #143,page 16.

Isn't it Rosemount that does a similar version, GSM?

Yup, but this puppy's flavor profile is different than the GSM. More going on, juicier, longer finish and cheaper, IMHO a better effort.

Dang, I just remembered that I have three bottles squirrled away. I better do some testing!

If it compares favorably to the GSM, 'twould be a fine thing.
