2006 Levata Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Nose of burned rubber; hot on the palate, yet only 12% alc/vol. Would suspect damage in shipment, but no sign of leakage around the #$%%$## synthetic cork. Yeah, I know, what should I expect from six bucks and change these days? Would hope for something better than plonk.....

I OTOH would expect plonk for that price. Even my best bargain wines were about $7.99 on sale and $9.99 regularly.

I usually pay $10-$14 for Abruzzi.... but this was a discount house AND it was on sale. (Now I know why.)
