2004 La Pousse d'Or Santenay 1er cru clos Tavannes

Opens a bit tight right now. Needed about a couple hours worth of air.

Very clear and bright, this is a pretty wine to look at and this theme continues.

Very fruity floral nose, and a dose of cedar and tobacco.

On the palate, a bit forward, cherry, red fruits, plum. Hint of minerals, tannins in check, pretty and elegant. About $40.

Your note reminded me that I have a La Pousse d'Or (not the Santenay but I think a 1er Cru also) somewhere in my collection that may be ready for drinking. Will look for it for late May or early June possibly.

I have an '02 Santenay 1er Cru, any guesses if it's closed for business?

It's maybe only me but none of the 02's that I've had are closed.....though they should be. The '02's are suppose to last for quite some time though so I would not open them yet. That's why I'm picking away at other things.
