Nose of .... cola? Yeah, and the palate says it's cherry cola passed through charred oak chips. Bleh! 12.5% alc/vol and %7.99 on sale. Not my cup of juice and definitely no bargain.

Hotwine,

We had a bottle from the 1994 vintage (Citation) and, in spite of the accolades given by the retailer, we were quite disappointed!

The fruit had pretty much disappeared and all you could taste was the alcohol. According to the retailer... it's a GREAT bottle of wine.

At CDN$60.00... it was a waste of money! Personally speaking, I wouldn't buy another bottle.

Hi again Capocheny and welcome to the board. Seems your retailor is no friend. This bottling is meant to be drunk on release and is targeted for the mass low-end market. There probably wasn't much fruit in that sucker to begin with. I'd find either a new store or one whose taste-buds weren't on par with Buckos'WW By the way Hotsie I see your having the same trouble as moi'. When trying to post a dollar sign I get 96 instead. Does that mean you and I are 10 pernts past exclusion?

Hello WOW,

Thank you... it's a pleasure to be a member on this board and I'm looking forward to learning, and sharing, information with all of you here.

Yes, you're quite correct in that the retailer isn't doing me any favors and I won't be taking any of their suggestions to heart in the future. They do bring in some pretty decent wines that are hard to find at other retailers here in Vancouver [not many Burgundies though ] So, with that in mind... I'll be doing my own research in the future.

BTW... the fruit was already down the road by about 1000 miles by the time I cracked the bottle!

Oh well, live and learn.

Cheers
