Gave a brief note of this after the big Pinot tasting last month. My box got in a couple of weeks ago and opened this hummer for lunch. Deep ruby. Extracted fruit that gives loads of red flavors, strawberry, minerals, and a touch of barnyard. Terrific entry, solid center, and a wonderful 4-lapper finish. Silky tannins that need another 2-4 for this gem to finalize. 91/91. 39 by the box.14.1% alc. WW

WW, I had seen a note that suggested this wine with bleu cheese and it did make a nice pairing. When I had one for Easter dinner with ham, it somewhat overpowered the ham.

Had this with lunch yesterday. Nose has beefed up since the last bottle. No change in notes or scoring. WW

Opened another yesterday for lunch. Fleshing out nicely with an expanding nose and a softer mouthfeel. Getting a note of bing cherries along with some blueberry underlay. Solid effort. No change in scoring. WW

Another for lunch today with scallops stuffed with crab. Very balanced now with all them thingies lined up smoothly. Seems to have fleshed out and the lovely aromatics and solid mouthfeel are as synchronized as the Rockettes. Tannins are now almost gone and the finish is up a 1/2 lapp. Kick this lovely up to a solid 92. WW

Good to hear this was in the outstanding category. I have liked David Bruce Pinot with bleu cheese in the past but haven't tried it recently.
