We had this last weekend. Dark ruby almost purple but clear.
After about 30 minutes the aroma of berry, vanilla{oak?]. Med to full body with cherry or berry fruit finish of about 15-20 seconds. Good balance, tannins are nice and smooth. Wife detected a chocolate after taste.
I had a hard time decanting this wine. I stood it up for about two days before opening it. While decanting, I couldn't see any sediment so I stopped pouring until near the bottom. When I dumped the wine remiaing in the bottle I did not see any solid pices of sediment in the wine or on the inside of the bottle?
The wine tasted fine and I would rate it VG-outstanding but a notch lower than the 1992 Gallo I posted on a month ago.

The reason you didn't get a lot of sediment was the wine was probably either filtered, fined, or both. I think the 93 was a learning process for CSJ on the blend. Plus 93 was the weakest of the 90 vintage years. Still a pretty solid bottle if stored well. WW

Thanks for clearing that up. First time I've experienced that with a Cab. that old. I noticed that the price on this wine has went through the roof. I saw a '97 for $88; the '93 was $19.99.

The price stayed relatively stable till the Speculator picked it as "Wine-of-the-Year".

Now the Wine Spectator is trying to correct thing by not putting any of the big name cabs in the top 100. The Wine Spectator knows they have pushed wine prices up through their rating and reveiws, and are now trying to fix it. Example: Marchesi di Barolo Ruvie was $10 then received a 91 from WS and now it is $18 to $20. Would be nice if it could be corrected but I don't see it happening.
