WW, I recived this as a gift. What is your take on this wine. This is the highest cost wine I have had, so I want to enjoy it at it's peak.

Now I step back and bow to the master.

While we're on the topic, WW, the Mrs. and I received a gift cab, too. 1999 Shafer Napa. First, please offer your advice on how long to let it rest, as my wife would otherwise likely be inclined to open it over the holidays. RP said give it 10-15, but she only will trust your advice

Second, have you tried it? I know you get their Hillside ones from looking at past posts.

Thanks in advance!

Happy holidays Misser and Misses D. Think I've posted on the 99 Shafer Napa and can assure you this is a killer bottle. I'd give it a minimum 4 and can easily go 6-8. Always one of the top 10 wines of the vintage.WW

Forgot to mention the two wineries are in close proximity in the Stags Leap area. Warren Winarski owner of SLV and Bob Shafer and his sons owners of Shafer are two of the nicest Jillionaires you'll find and both make super-great juice. WW
