2002 Jade Mountain Syrah Mt. Veeder Paras Vineyard

Flavors of Blackberry, roasted meat, mushroom and loamy soil. Wonderfully earthy and not fruit driven. It displays good structure and balance and shows very much like a good Northern Rhone. Eileen,who usually likes fruit driven wines, really got into this syrah. Paired very simply with hot Italian sausage with sauteed onion, red pepper and asparagus on a raw Maryland evening. Perfect! $17 each on 6.
