Anyone who tells you "blade free" lasik eye sugery is an in and out painless procedure is well.... the doctor selling it. Poor Maryann went through it yesterday morning (after a two hour wait since some staff didn't show up for work on time) and has informed me in no uncertain terms that it was far from painless. The only thing worse has been the pain meds they gave her which have made the poor thing sick to her stomach and sleep for 24 hours. Glad she didn't know all this going in or she would be wearing glasses and contacts for the rest of her life. The only interesting part was I got to watch the whole thing on the tv in the next room. Made me glad I have 20/20. For now anyway. :0 Plus the Sox lost to the Yanks AGAIN last night. Not a good ending to a long day/week.

I had the procedure done on one eye 3 or so ago and after the injection in the eye I really didn't feel a thing. As a matter whenced I woke up I asked when they were going to do the bloomin procedure. Hope everything is well and Maryanne is feeling better today. Now I think about it I don't think mine was the bladeless variety. Oh well, the memory's the 2nd thing to go. WW

Maybe that is the difference. She didn't get an injection or get knocked out. Just a drop in each eye to kill the pain. Was awake for the whole fun experience.
