After almost 32 years of lockin' up bad guys I've decided to hang up my gun and RETIRE. The Baltimore Police Department has deteriorated in recent years due to the New York influence of corrupted leadership, just indicted ex-Commissioner Ed Norris, 20 year retired NYC Commander, yesterday on misappropriation of over $150,000 which included allegations of payment to prostitutes. The current regime, also from NYC, is just as bad, imho. They look and act like thugs and have stripped the Baltimore PD of it's identy. I just can't work for these bums anymore. It's so bad that it's extimated that between 300 & 900 Officers will leave/retire between now and July '04. Been hired by the State of Maryland as an investigator starting 1/5/04 so I guess I'll just strap the gun back on again.

Congrats, Drew! Sounds like you've put up with enough crap for one career. Maybe as a state investigator, you'll get the chance to go after some of those corrupt officials..... Best wishes.

Maybe you should have contacted the Ravens. My retired FBI cousin-in-law from Ellicott City does the drug testing for them. He travels to whatever far flug suburb the players live in, watches them pee in a bottle, and maintains chain of custody. He gets paid an obscene hourly wage (think three digits) portal to portal for doing this!

Anyhoo, congrats, and good luck in the new adventure Drew.

Congratulations on the new job, Drew. I'd say 32 years of faithful service to one organization or company is exemplary.

That's a BIG ATTA-BOY Drewski. Nice seeing that someone with talent not let it go to waste. Just pulled in from San Diego/Palm Springs a couple of hours ago. Nice trip. WW

Baltimore's loss is Maryland's gain. Good luck w/the new career, Drew.

Old "Homicide: Life on the Streets" fan that I am, I'm sorry to hear about corruption in the Balmer police department.

Zenda, "Homicide: Life on the Streets" was a fav of mine also. I think I mentioned this before but my last Major, Gary D'Addario, was the real life Lieut. G on the series. Everyone called him "D" and it was he, and his homicide squad, that David Simon based his book on. I was also in three of the episodes. Nice memories.

Congrats, Drew, on your retirement and new position. I really value any emergency services personnel (with honesty and integrity--not the corrupt ones). Is it a relief to your wife to have you retiring from the Balmer PD?

Drew, I certainly recall talking about that here. Best of luck to D (G) and all your co-workers.

Now...you watch your 6, you've only got 1* (one asterisk)
