Is there any way to make a bottle of wine last a few days without losing ALL its flavor? I have heard of vacuum gadgets and gas gadgets but I would prefer a less technological method of enjoying an evening glass of wine. What do you all do? (without building a wine cellar & inviting the neighbors over for dinner every evening, of course )

The easiest way, that is as effective as any is to save a half bottle (375 ml) after using, preferably one with an artificial cork. A regular cork that you haven't destroyed in the extraction process will work too. Clean bottle and cork thoroughly.

When you are ready to save some wine, it is best to make up your mind before you get started. Open your new wine, and fill up the half bottle almost to the top. Set it on the floor and drive in the cork with a rubber mallet. Some wine will shoot out on the floor. This is good. As the guys Drew referred you point out, the whole idea is to absent air, or more precisely oxygen, from the process.

Put the half bottle in the refrigerator. Drink it if it is red, after removing it a few hours in advance, within two days. If it is white, straight from the refer, within three days.

Don't forget to clean up the floor. And drink the wine left in the full bottle before you forget. Just don't forget anything.
