2008 Knapp, Cayuga Lake, Cabernet Franc ($14.95 at winery); alcohol level: 12%. This is a wonderful wine from the folks at Knapp.

It gives you a big load of red berries on the nose and upfront. There is more fruit along with some green herbs and a touch of oak in the middle. The finish lingers nicely.

The wine matched perfectly with slow roasted duckling with orange sauce, wild rice stuffing, and salad. It was a delightful Sunday dinner with family. We also had blueberry cobbler for dessert. Mmmm good.

Popped the '09 tonight, and it was a clone of the '08. Tasted exactly the same. The alky was a half degree higher at 12.5%. We matched it with tenderloin steak, roasted baby Yukons, and green beans almondine. Lovely dinner.

Popped another '09 tonight and enjoyed it with broil lamb chops, roasted sliced potatoes, and eggplant salad. Yum!

And we ordered two more today as part of a case responding to their Black Monday deal.

Last night we opened the first of a couple of '10s that came in the last shipment. It was delightful with the same meal as with the last '09 except we had green beans almandine instead of the salad. Mmmmm good!

Last of the 2010's tonight. We matched it with penne in pesto with basil fresh from our own deck planter. It was accompanied with garlicky Italian sausage, and sliced tomatoes. Yum! (are you happy ww?).

We received three more 2010's in the most recent shipment. The Franc is still at 12.5 % alcohol and the price is $16.95.

The one we popped tonight still had a big load of red berries on the nose and upfront. There is more fruit along with some green herbs and a touch of oak in the middle. The finish lingers nicely.

We matched it with broiled lamb chops, a mini baguette, and salad. Yum!

We popped another '10 for Memorial Day today with almost the same menu we had last time. It is still a terrific wine and we grilled the loin lamb chops over charcoal and pecan chips, and had farro salad as a side. Yum!

Same meal tonihgt' except we also had eggplant salad along with everything else. Yum!!! Incidentally eggplant salad goes great with lamb (very Greek or Spanish depending on your outlook).

We popped two 2012s for Christmas. It was perfect with Roast Goose, mashed potato stuffing, braised red cabbage, green beans almandine, and fruit salad. Christmas Cookies for dessert. Yum!

We have another bottle for leftovers!
