My first real St. Joseph and I though that this wine might be shut down pretty hard. It was not.

Great nose, wonderful perfumey, elegant, ripe but balanced nose. On the palate, much the same, wine is ripe but balanced with great spices, woodsiness, roundness, rich, dense, experience. It did not need much time to opened up this way. Definitely gotta put the rest in the back for a bit of a rest though and see how they will change.

One of the finest producers year-after- of the many areas of the Rhone. Etiennes' son has taken the feetsball and run with the sucker! WW

Them, Charpoutier, Graillot and If I have any money left by then, Rene Rostaing are wines that I like to purchase at least some of every year from the Rhone (plus the usual culprits from the south). But in recent years, this has been tough as even their regular bottles (except Graillot) has gotten more expensive.... oh well...maybe the financial crisis will bring a few things down to size.

Yeah, like my retirement account! Glad the stocks went up yesterday at least.
