1995 Chateau d'Yquem

Liquid gold is the only way to describe this vino. I actually stole the bottle and hid it under the table and consumed at least half. Honey, apricot jam, vanilla, pineapple and mineral all glowing from the bottle. It was the only time in quite some time that perhaps it was worth the hangover.

I don't get to down Yquem much, but the few times that I've had the opportunity almost turned me into a dessert wine lover.

Probably one of the most surprisingly awesome Yquems I've had was the 29 in half bottle that the manager of another shop dragged out just before the shop he worked at went under due to ownership mismanagement about 15 years ago.

KCW, I can't imagine how concentrated the '29 must have been. A loss turned into a gain right there. Foodie, anyone who sees such an opportunity should hide in the bushes and suck down a big grin.

There is a nick name for Yquem in Chinese. the name Yquem sounds like drops of gold in chinese...how appropriate
