Hi, I am a waiter at an italian resturant and everynight I will sell probably 300 dollars worth of wine to my tables, I am not a wine expert however, I understand basic rules like red wines go with red sauce type foods and white go with white, and that red wines are typically dryer than white wines, but when people talk about dryness in wines, what does that actually mean? I also would like to know if anyone knows of a book or website that describes a list of wines and their tastes because I would like to be able to desribe the wines to my customers. If anyone can give me the basics on dryness of wines for the typical red wines and white wines, that would be appreciated.
