From the outstanding old vines on the Dusi Ranch this is always one of my top 10 zins each vintage. Medium ruby, with a nice zinberry nose. Spicy and concentrated.
Lots of up-front fruit and silky tannins. 4-lapper finish. Can stand another 1-2 of cellaring. 90/90. 22 by the box. 14.5% alc. WW

ww- Love Ridge... especially their Zins! I have a couple 2000 Lytton Springs. Do you have a guesstimate on age worthiness for this? I want to say the bottle says 4-6 years, so I was holding out until next year.

CG, I always give the Lytton and Geyservilles at least 5 years as both are from old vines and need time to mellow. Think I posted on an orphan Lytton Springs found in the cellar. Was a 1979 vintage from the original Lytton winery. Drank it at 21 or 22 years old and it was SESATIONAL. And the ex-i-pertz say zin done' age! WW

Thanks ww! I think that I may hold out for at least the 7-8 yr mark.

I love old Zin. Many say it isn't Zin anymore after a certain time, but that is fun too. I've even tried cheap stuff like a 95 St. Francis and was blown away after 9 years in the bottle.
