This bottle was starting to take on a bit darker gold color so pulled it to see how the 2001's were coming along.

This one is ready for drinking so I'm thinking that the simpler "cheaper" 01' sauternes are now targetable.

A bit of time seems to have softened them, nose of chrysanthanum, honey, candied orange, good level of acidity, a bit course on the palate, shorter than should be, but a good simple sauternes for the price.
