Rhe Cline was brite ruby with loads of raspberries in the nose. Slighty astringint entry but nice mouthfeel. The heafty 15% alc comes across with heat on the back throat. These 100 year old vines produce big zins that need a couple of years cellaring to show their best. 87/87...21 by the box. The Renwood was svelter, smmother, and saucier. Again old vines from the hills of Fiddletown but showing much better at this juncture. Lots of spicy, bramly, sweet fruits mingle with vanilla and cinnamon. Good structure with supple tannins in the background. Nice finish. Can also stand another 2 years od slumber. 89/88...22 by the box. WW

WW, Do you buy the small berry Mouvedre? I was almost in tears when my rep told me I couldn't buy anymore of the current vintage.

CCK, would you believe I still have five bottles of the '97 small berry put down? It's sure tough to keep my mitts off of 'em.

Yeppo CCK! My local hero got me a box. What a super grill-stuff comfort pleaser. WW

I've been opening these 2000 Cline Big Break's like candy bars lately! They have developed very nicely over the past 2 years and make for some incredible drinking. you have to drink them the same day you open them though... they oxidize a lot if you try to save some for the following day. It's still available here in pennsylvania for a mere $17.99 a bottle.

At a Charlotte event last year they were pouring two Renwood Zins. I don't remember the name of the second one, but I prefered the Fiddletown.
