Couldn't find a post from IK on this luscious bottling so thot it best I oblige. One of the 2 greatest bottles of Zin I've had were the 1977 Lytton Springs and the 1978 Mastantuano Dusi. This old, old zin vineyard has produced luscious fruit for over 90 years. Marked by intense layers of fruit this bottling even surprised the weener when I finished the bottle and looked at the alc. Smooth as Bucko giving a patient his bill, intense as IK pitching a buyer for his B&B, and as dedicated as Foodie talking about oak, this is one super drinking dude. A solid 91. 15.5% alc. WW

Had any of Pasquale's wines lately. Not bad, but if 78 was one of the two best Zins you've had, he may have slipped a bit since then.

Hi KC I was referring to his brother whose name slips me now. They had a falling out in the early 80s' and divided up the patch.WW

I thot you were talking about old man Dusi. Haven't had the pleasure of any Mastantuanos since the 84 vintage which was wanting. WW

We popped our '02 TJ Dusi Vineyard tonight and killed a whole batch of Eggpant Soba with it. Hardly gets any better. Burp!
