From Freds' familys' 90+-year-old-vines this is always a great addition to the Zin-Bin. Brite ruby. Nose highlighted by straw-black-& blue-berry notes with sweet spices and a touch of vanilla on the end. All come over on the palate and are well-balanced and integrated. Enjoyable now, this wine will benefit by another 3-6 years of cellaring. 90/92. 18.75 on futures. 28 on release. 14.5% alc. WW

A new BBQ jernt a mile from us won the culinary "Best New Restaurant" thingie-Bob at the Scottsdale Culinary Festival so decided to get take-out of Briskit, Chicken, and St. Louis style ribs for lunch today so opened another of these suckers. Perfecto! The meat was purty derned good but the wine was superb. Lovely Sunday. WW

Woke at 3 with a tummy-ache which indicates something in the meal wasn't up to snuff. 1st and last time. Lifes too short to drink bad wine or eat bad food. WW

Decided to make blackened rock fish for lunch and opened this sucker to go with. As stated earlier this wine will not be stared down by any food you throw at it. The aromatics have improved beautifully over the year and seems to have added some weight to the center. The fruit and spices have integrated so will take this to a solid 91. WW

Agreed. Maryann and I just had one of these last night. Always a winner.

GOODBYE OLE' FREN!!!!! Opened the last of the box yesterday with homemade Turkey/Basil meatloaf with garlic-tomatoe sauce and befitting its' granduer it rode off into the sunset holding its' head high. As stated earlier this is one of the best zins around and when you factor in the price against the Ridges or Biales this hummer wears the crown. WW

never tried a scherrer wine, but just signed up for their list based on this thread. judi just sent me an ordering sheet, but the '07 zin futures are sold out. if anyone wants to share their allotment, let me know. it would be appreciated. i only have 1 bottle of zin in my much-depleted wine stash and need to reload wisely (cause money is REALLY tight). thanks.

I am ready for an order as well, but the shipping is killer. Especially since they don't ship to MA and I have to drive to pick it up once it's in.
