Broke out another of these suckers. Seems as tho the fruit and the other components are starting to integrate. Hardly felt the 14.7% alc. This is a LARGE zin that takes few names. Gonna give it another 2-3 and then smile. WW

Yeppo the lady has an agenda. The 14.7% alc is going on the back burner and is about as noticable as Buckos' legs in shorts in the infield at Hialeigh. Massive wine that still needs time. WW

Well this hummer has made the turn. Still with a veritable ton of fruit and the tannins have rounded out like a Randy Johnson Fastball. Superb bottling that streches the limits. With 14.7% alc barely noticible this kicked my Italian Steak up a notch. Lovely juice. WW

Nice to see that they age a bit without falling apart.

I'm a big fan of big wines, so this sounds right up my alley. My local shop as the Monga Zin Jose Lopez Vineyard Cucamonga Valley bottling. How do you think this would compare to the RR? It appears to be the least expensive of the four bottles she makes at $24. I guess I'll have to buy and try.

The only one of the 2000s' I've had is the Rockpile Vineyard. Will look for the others in San Diego next week. WW

Well, the one at the shop is the new vintage. The 03. For 24 it's worth a try. I will post when it get's popped.

Watch out that it's not overripe.

Well, I found it and it was the 01. Not a value at $25. I would blind guess at 6-10. I guess I need to try some of her better bottles as this one was a complete flop.

I thought the 2002 Carol Shelton "Monga" Zin (15% alcohol) was okay. It wasn't in my top three of the tasting (out of ten zinfandels) but not a complete dud either.
