First, I want to say thanks to Jerry, Bob, and whoever else is involved here. This seems like the best forum software for web based boards. My suggestion is that we use a modified AOL style folder system, since most of us are used to that. I've kept most of the AOL names, but eliminated some folders and combined others. Here's my suggestions for folders:

Paraphernalia (This includes memorabilia, accessories, corkscrews, etc.)
Wine Touring/Dining
Wine & Politics
Merlot
Southern France & Rhone Varietals
Zinfandel
Spanish Wines & Varietals
Champagne/Sparking Wine
Loire Valley Wines
Food & Wine Pairing
Ads/Promos/Events
Books/Magazines/Critique the Critics
Trade/Sell/Locate Wines
Pinot Noir/Red Burgundy
Home Winemaking
Port/Red Dessert Wines
White Dessert Wines
Beaujolais
Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon/White Bordeaux
Northwest Wines
East Coast/NY Wines
Soapbox/Miscellaneous Ramblings
Wines From Down Under
Wines Under $15
Italian Wines & Varietals
Bordeaux
Cabernet
South America/South Africa
Wine Shopping/Mail Order Deals
Chardonnay/White Burgundy
Storage/Cellars/Racking
Wine & Health
Alsace & German Varietals
Other Wines

If there's anything I can do to assist with this board, let me know.

Eno, two thoughts: First, I think fewer is better than more, especially starting out, especially since we can add more as need be. Second, there is a feature of this BB software that allows folders that have new messages since your last visit to be identified. This will have to be turned on, or we'll waste too much time opening up folders that have nothing new.

We need a Loire folder, or combine it with another region of France such as Alsace.
Also we need a Central Chats.

As you can see, we've already set up some of the ones Eno recommended (basically same stuff as on old board, with slightly different titles) and I e-mailed an additional list of topic to Jackie during the wee hours...Loire/Chenin Blanc is among them.

Before the weekend is over, we'll should actually have most of what we need up and running...after that it will be fine tuning. I think we're far enough along that you can start inviting other non-AOL friends to have a look-see.

Good list, Eno. But I wouldn't create a separate folder for Beaujolais since the AOL board has so few posts. It could easily be folded into "Other wines".

I like combining Oregon and Washington into one folder, "Northwest Wines".
