Vichon Merlot

Based on a previous recommendation from a Board Member we picked up a couple of 1997 Vichon, Mediterranean, Merlot on a recent trip. This is a Vin du Pays from the Languedoc made and imported by the Mondavies. The original recommender said it was available everywhere, but that has not been our experiance. We drank the first on the road, but brought the other home to rest awhile. Tonight we had a potpourie of leftovers from restaurants and home cooking. Mother is the one who brings things home, non moi. Anyhow, it all went wonderfully with the Vichon, as they advertised on the back label. Those Mondavies thing of everything. It cost well less than $10.00 per bottle, but a little more than your run of the mill Vin de Pays. This posting could just as well gone under Best Buys.
