bought this to take to a cookout, so i can't post any detailed notes (especially on the nose). however, i must say this is a very nice sippin' merlot. good fruit flavors that really came on about an hour after opening the bottle, with nice vanilla and spice notes on the finish. fairly priced at $16.99 a bottle. i'd buy it again.

Agree -- my note FWIW:

1998 Clos Du Bois, Merlot, Sonoma County, $17. Raspberry and blueberry aromas are backed by plum and black cherry flavors, a touch of tea and tobacco, with smooth tannins on the finish.
