Shiraz 95% - Viognier 5% blend.
Took this to a retirement celebration at Martin's Eastwind last night with wife and best friend. Police Officer Jerry Heid, 46 years in the Baltimore Police Department plus 6 years previous in the Marine Corps = a retirement check of 112% of his current salary. There's not another like him and I'm proud to say that he worked for me, off and on, for about 10 years...it was a fun night.
Very nice buffet at a nice setting but beer and setups so took this bottle for a little casual fun. The best Zonte's to date. Very nice, rich spicy blackberry with the floral notes from the Viognier. The three of us shared this with the meal pairing beautifully with the very nice prime rib roast from the carving station. Very nice event and nice to see a lot of the old "flat feet" I worked with.
