Red Wine Delights

Hi,i starting to love the great taste of red wine lately.I really likes the ones with a good fruity taste and smooth finishing.Please advise on any good recommendation.Thank you.

I don't know what red wines you have already tasted, but when I became interested in wines for the second time in my life (I took a 12 year break from wines) I began by trying the different wines Lindeman's produced. They are a reputable Australian company and make a decent Merlot & Cabernet for the money. Start with the Merlot for now if you have not already tried it- you can try the Cabernet too, but it's possible it may be a little too concentrated for your palet just yet.

A lot of people I know just getting into wine really like Shiraz, so give that a try as well- and try a couple different producers of it. Hardy's is fairly inexpensive, Penfolds I think is better in quality but your going to pay a little more for it. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Shiraz, but if it is well made I enjoy it.

They also have Shiraz/Cabernet blends that you may also like- give these a try too after you have tried the other suggestions.

Are there wine tastings held in you area you can attend? This is an excellent way to sample several wines at a time, without actually personally purchasing & opening wines that you may or may not care for. I've been seriously collecting wines again for the past three years now, but only began attending wine tastings about 4 months ago. I regret that I had not begun attending them earlier- they can be a lot of fun, and you also get a lot of opinions from others attending.

Hope this helps. Keep in mind though, that what you like may be completely different than someone else, and there's nothing wrong with that. That's one of the reasons there are so many different types of wines out there- everyone's taste is different.

I forgot to mention Rosemount Estate is also a popular producer among people new to red wines. Try some of their wines as well.
