Having had a white Albarino and a red Pinot Noir neither of which did very well with the soup, I'm open to suggestions for future pairings. I have had some success with Beaujolais and tomato soup. Other opinions?

This may sound crazy, but would a Sangio rose or an inexpensive sparkler, like a Brut Cava, work?

I'd play like there's pasta hiding in that soup and go with a Barbera, Montepulciano or Sangiovese, in that order.

Thanks for your suggestions. I probably will try an Italian red next time.
