Another wine expo selection, this was quite delicious. Dark purple in color, with a nice fruit nose. On the palate it was predominantly dark ripe fruit like currant or cassis and also a pleasant tobacco flavor. Good finish with a significant amount of tannin. Not the most complex wine in the world, but very good and worth every penny of its $15.99 price. It seemed more fruit oriented than many Italian wines but nonetheless proved to be food friendly (w prosciutto and fontina stuffed chicken, vermicelli, and puttanesca sauce).

Oh yes, this is a beauty. I enjoyed drinking every ounce of my two bottles. Great wine.

Too bad I can't find any here in the Southeast.
