2003 Il Filare Rosso (Puglia)

Needed a rustic red to accompany her chili tonight, but didn't want to hike to the celar for a Navarra. Found this in the EuroCave in the garage.

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Primitivo. Dark, almost opaque in the glass; a promising very fruity nose of dark red fruit; lively flavors of sweet dark cherries and raspberries on the palate with just enough earth undertone to be interesting. Finish is short to moderate. 12.5% alc/vol and $10. Excellent with the chili!
