From Barolo. What a gorgeous wine! Deep red in the glass, opaque, with a heady nose of red fruit with a modest earthy underlayment; very bright red fruit on the palate, very soft tannins, lip-smacking finish that makes you want to guzzle the stuff. 13% alc/vol and $16. Worth every penny. Mortgage the farm!

Oh, yeah..... with pizza smothered in fresh tomatoes, basil and shredded Parmesan. Where was this stuff when we had gumbo a week or two ago?

Docetto is one of my favorite pizza wines(Just behind the other everyday drinker from Piedmont, Barbera). Sometimes they are a little too jammy, but the better producers (Vietti, Dolcetto) make wonderfully fun wines at great price points.
