I recently received a bottle of Sicilian wine and it was excellent. I believe the label had Salandra as the producer or seller. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can anyone help.
Thanks

Welcome to the WineBoard, khadabux (interesting handle). Nero d'Avalo is the name of the grape, and it has a wonderful earthy flavor with some mushroom notes, and even fruits like raspberries and strawberries are in there. There are many producers of Nero d'Avalo. Don't limit yourself to a single producer. I'm sure the PLCB must have at least one other, maybe more, winery from Sicily represented. Go in and ask.

If you can find is, Cusmano makes a nice Nero D'avola and a wonderful Nero D'avola/Syrah blend. Both should be selling for under $15 if you have a reasonable retailer.
