My Dad has a magnum of this stuff (vintage '98). He has been storing it in our kitchen (I know, probably the WORST place for it), and standing upright, moreover. Do you think it has gone bad? The front label just reads: Prosecco, Primo Franco. The back says what I printed in the subject box. The only thing I know is that it is sparkling wine. What is Prosecco? Is this bottle any good? That might be Nino Franco, and it might be ruined. prosecco is both a grape name and a sparkling or lightly fizzy wine.

That's the Extra Dry cuvee from Nino Frano and is yummy stuff. It is is DIRE danger of being destroyed...open it tonight!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, really? I'm a little surprised that it's a quality bottle. That's great, though. Well, I lay it on its side yesterday and will take it downstairs to the basement tonight. Opened it up last night. It hadn't gone bad -- in fact, it was very enjoyable, although I suspect that it would have been better had it been stored properly. Very dry sparkling wine with a lovely touch on the tongue. A friend said she couldn't even feel it go down her throat, it was so smooth.
