Disappointing after the fabulous 1997.

Clear purple-garnet, lacking the depth of color in the '97. Some cherry and strawberry on the nose; light-to-medium bodied, with typical sangiovese acidity, and a big wallop of finely-integrated, mouth-drying tannins on the finish. Lacks the depth and concentration of the 1997. Decent typicity at a not-so-decent price. 85/77 ($33.95 per here in NYC).
