MONTEPIANO
Tuscan Style Red Wine

A very nicely made wine that I think will pair well with a variety of foods. Dark ruby with a very floral nose of dark cherry and blackberry, the aromas jumped from the bottle. The predominate flavor is black cherry with some blackberry and dark fruit notes that add lushness to this wine. Very low oak with a hint of vanilla, the wine is balanced and soft...very easy drinking. Although I thought it to be a very pleasant, nice wine, I probably won't buy again as I like a little more complexity. Good large gathering wine. $8.99, 13%Alc/vol.

This is what the Rabbit Ridge web site says about their wine.

"The rage in Tuscany is Sangiovese blended with exotic combinations of Italian and/or Bordeaux varities. Our Tuscan style wine is blended to taste reminiscent of a classic Italian Chianti. A predominance of Sangiovese, blended together with a variety of grapes such as Barbera and Shiraz, creates a complex and spicy, yet smooth and approachable complement to any meal. The result is a wine with rose and cherry aromas, complex flavors of vanilla and oak, and a long and delicious finish. 10,000 cases produced."
