Picked this up at Costco yesterday, and as luck would have it, she decided on chicken with pasta and sun-dried tomatoes for supper, a fair enough excuse to give it a try (not that one is ever needed....).

Color of a Barbaresco - not a deep red. But a very floral nose, delightful, and one sip says there's nothing wimpy about this wine at all. Bursting with deep red fruit, silky on the palate, very full-flavored with a nice long finish. Visions of eggplant Parmesan in my head! Almost the equal of our favorite CCR, the Marchese Antininori. $21.49 and 13% alc/vol.

HW's note is a reminder to me that I haven't purchased any Chianti Classico in a long time. I should rectify that by next fall if not sooner.
