On bottle, it says the fruit comes from Santa Barbara (75%), Monterey (19%), and Sonoma (10%) -- though I realize that those numbers don't add up to 100%.

At any rate, almost purple in the glass, with garnet flashes around edge. Black plum nose, with a slight whiff of vanilla. Lots of plum on entry, both black and red, with some nice acidity, good Pinot texture, and a finish that includes cherry and cinnamon. Not a great deal of complexity here, but a nicely made sippin' Pinot with good fruit character. Decent P/Q at $16 a bottle, before mixed case discount. Alc. 13.8%. FWIW, WS 87 -- drink to '07.

I'll take a bottle that has 104% wine in it every time!

I've heard good things about Babcock Pinot Noir from someone who lives in Santa Barbara County. Not sure I've tried it but will look for it.

Like Sanford, Babcock is always up there on the R/Q scale. WW

Have had numerous bottles of Babcock in the past and have always enjoyed it.

Frankly, for the money... it's a very good bottle of wine for consumption with friends who enjoy a tasty glass of Pinot.
