As I've said meeny times, "The memory's the 2nd thing to go". I would have bet over 10 bucks Someone had posted on this hummer but after going back to 9/06 couldn't find any mention of Senor' Pepe. Every other vineyard was mentioned. Usual deep ruby color. Nose of flowers, red and black fruits, and an arrasy of sweet spices. All hit the palate with the addition of a small amount of wet earth. Lovely entry, weighty center and a solid 4 lapper fiish. A solid 90+/90. 15.2% alc. 40-something on the mailing list. WW

Had this for lunch today with wild atlantic salmon in chimichurri sauce and white asparagus from Peru. What a massive pairing and the wine kicked dust in the eyes. One of the better pairings I've had lately. Was having so much fun I forgot to pay attention to the juice. Was up there with the food. WW

Am the weener a creature of habit or what? Opened another of these yesterday for lunch with Exactly the same lunch as above. Paid a little more attention to the wine than before. Deep ruby. Nose of blue and black fruits, spices, and flowers. All hit the palate along with a trace of heat. Big brawny pinot with still just a trace of tannins left.Close to the TOIG. Take to a 91. WW

Another yesterday with oil-poached salmon with fresh scallops and capers. Really a delightful food wine that has hit TTOIG. Lovely aromatics, solid mouthfeel and finish. Have a few more that will be consumed over the next 6-12 mos. No change in scoring. WW
